Our Story

The name BCX Orchids holds a very personal meaning. It is inspired by the names (Bobby, Xu) of beloved dogs and cats that have passed away and are still deeply missed. Today, we continue to share our home with two lovely cats (Chiko, Xu) who bring joy to our everyday life.

My journey with orchids started with a genuine passion for plants. Before becoming a seller, I was once a customer who purchased freshly imported orchids and experienced firsthand how challenging it could be to help these plants recover and adapt to a new environment.

Freshly imported orchids often go through significant stress during transportation and require special attention, patience, and proper care to recover. I experienced the difficulties of restoring their health, helping them establish new roots, and adjusting them to growing conditions in Canada.

Through these experiences, I began to understand how challenging it could be for customers, especially beginners, to care for freshly imported orchids successfully.

That experience inspired me to build BCX Orchids with a different philosophy.

Rather than selling plants immediately after they arrive, I made the decision to give them the time and care they need to acclimate to our growing environment before offering them to customers.

This approach requires considerably more time, space, and ongoing care. Not every plant survives the acclimation process, and accepting these losses means sacrificing a portion of potential profits.

Nevertheless, I believe that providing healthy, established plants and giving customers a better chance of success is far more important than making a quick sale.

For me, BCX Orchids is not simply about selling beautiful orchids. It is about sharing my passion, building trust, and making the experience of growing orchids more enjoyable and accessible to everyone.
